Journal Workshops

Decorate your own hardback Journal! Workshops for both adults and children.  Using decorative papers, vintage music sheet, ephemera and lace, create the front and back cover for your journal and finish it off with a photo of yourself, a friend or loved one, dress them up with wings and crowns to personalize your journal either for yourself or as a gift.

 A fun, informal workshop for all creative abilities.  This workshop runs on Saturday mornings for Children Ages 8 to 12, and on Friday mornings for Adults.  Price £25.00 for two and a half hours, please email for an Application Form and workshop details.

Little White Studio On The Road!!

 

The Little White Studio is all packed up and on the move tomorrow..... If you are in the Horam area, drop in and see us and Maygreen Fairies at the Cake & Craft Sale, Christchurch, Horebeech Lane, Horam from 10am till 2pm.  Local business will have stalls as well as local Cake Makers, you will be able to chat with Karen and Amanda of The Little White Studio, take away info on future classes and view some of the previous students works.  Amanda will also have her Art Company, Maygreen Fairies there, where you will be able to purchase handmade items by Amanda Howard.

The Little White Studio will be opening it's doors once again for you to visit us, view the Studio and learn about our Workshops for this Summer.  In addition we will have local Arts, Craft and Fayre on Sale as well as Refreshments (donations from which will go to the local Horam Pre-School).

You will get the opportunity to chat to our Workshop Tutors, Amanda & Karen, and view some of the Workshop Projects that we will be teaching this Summer, to include Childrens Holiday Workshops, Mixed Media Canvas Workshops, Watercolour Workshops, Altered Jewellery, Altered Books and some new Workshops for 2013 - Facebook for Beginners, Facebook Small Business Pages, and How to set up your own Blog!

New Workshop!! Alice Book Sculpture

The Little White Studio are pleased to offer this very special Workshop.... to "Create an Alice Book Sculpture".  The workshop will take you through altering an old book, using various techniques to create this stunning piece of Art.

The workshop will take place over two separate sessions on 13th & 20th April between 10am and 12noon at The Little White Studio in Horam.  We will supply the books and all tools you need to create this sculpture.  For more information or to request an Application Form please email us.  Places are limited so act now to avoid disappointment!

Fabric, Paper, Scissors Taster Day

 

 Today these wonderful ladies joined Karen and I at The Little White Studio for our Fabric, Paper, Scissors Taster Day... and what a fabulous day it was (despite the rain outside!).

 The day consisted of creating a collage on canvas using ephemera, images, found and sentimental objects.  Some of the ladies brought in their own family images and treasures to create a very personal collage, whilst others used elements supplied by The Little White Studio.  There was plenty of cutting, gluing and sticking going on as well as lots of chat and laughter, a very relaxing class.

 Below are the finished pieces, all quite different as each lady made their own personal mark on their work, here Jenny's granddaughter was the inspiration for her piece....

 This pretty canvas below by Gill was inspired by her love of fairies and all things whimsy...

And finally, Gilly's memorabilia canvas, incorporating a photo of her parents on their wedding day along with jewellery pieces and brooch elements from her family treasures...

Creative Collage

With our Creative Collage Taster Day coming up this Friday we thought we would add some examples of ways of working with collage.  Once you have the collage bug you will want to create your designs on many mediums.... Above and below we have added collage to journal and book covers, these make pretty gifts for friends and family, especially if you use an image that means something to the recipient.

Below we have used an old envelope printed onto cotton along with a vintage image and stitching to create a material collage Needle Case... lovely gift ideas for Mothers Day or Easter!

And another option below, collage on art board, this piece was designed using old wall paper, fabric, buttons and a vintage image.....
